Using Teams and Your On-Prem ShoreTel/Mitel MiVoice System
So you’re happy using Microsoft Teams for meetings, messaging, and collaboration, but have your on-prem ShoreTel / Mitel MiVoice Connect you’d like to leverage along with it. What is the best way to go about this?
Unfortunately, Call2Teams doesn’t support MiVoice Connect yet – if it did you would be able to register your Teams client as a 3rd party SIP endpoint to your MiVoice Connect system.
End of story? No! We always go deeper with our knowledge base until we find a solution for you! The good news is no additional Office 365 Licensing is needed. You can create Microsoft Direct Routing to create a tie-line between your PBX and Microsoft Teams. This enables the following:
- Extension to extension dialing between Teams devices and your MiVoice system
- Avoid adding a Microsoft Calling Plan to have your MiVoice system to provide dial tone to Teams meetings and Teams extensions (e.g. a Polycom endpoint registered to Teams)
